Trail Overview
Star Lake Road is a there-and-back style trail that provides access to several properties in this area, as well as several other county forest roads. The trail begins at its intersection with Neal Road. This is a wide gravel/sand road that navigates across rolling hills and winding terrain. Sight lines on this trail are good thanks to wide ditch lines and a lack of overhanging trees along the length of most of the trail. The trail is wide enough and clear enough that the surrounding landscape can be seen in a few different locations. The difficulty of the trail remains the same throughout the entire length of the trail and is not dependent upon which direction the trail is traveled. Scenery around the trail is limited to the hard and soft wood trees which surround the trail, except for a couple of locations where the trail clearing allows for small portions of the surrounding landscape to be seen. This trail is a groomed snowmobile trail in the winter months. Cell service in this location is acceptable for most; however, summertime traffic in the area can slow speeds. Downloaded maps are a good idea.
Difficulty
This trail can be navigated by riders of all experience levels. The trail is wide enough for two vehicles in most locations, and thanks to the dense surface type will not challenge any vehicle type. Sight lines on the trail are good to excellent. Being a gravel/ sand trail, this can lead to excessive dust and washboards created in times of drought.
