Trail Overview

FS 3391 begins at its intersection with Cathedral Drive and navigates to the northern side of Archibald Lake. This trail meets up with FR 3304A at roughly the one-mile mark. The remainder of the trail is a there-and-back style trail. This is a very narrow two-track dirt trail with lots of branches, as well as brush overhanging many parts of the trail. The trail has several gradual hills along the way, as well as several small water spots. Fallen branches and trees are common in this area due to the density of the forest. A small saw should be packed if traveling on this trail after a recent storm. This area is very scenic thanks to the topography of the surrounding landscape. This trail can be ridden several times, and still allow for different sights to be seen. Cell service in this area is very spotty and does not work for some carriers. It is best to always travel with downloaded maps. This area has a large snowmobile trail presence in the winter months. While there are some roads within the forest that do not have sled traffic, it is best to avoid them in the winter months, as navigation can be challenging or not allowed.

Difficulty

This trail can be easily navigated by any level of rider. The terrain is stable but can be moderately challenging to those with less experience. The trail is only wide enough for one vehicle, but there are sections of the trail that open up to allow for vehicles to pass. After a recent heavy rain, some of the hills on the trail can become rutted, exposing rocks beneath the trail surface. In addition, strong winds can push debris onto the trail from the surrounding woods.
