Trail Overview
FS 2233 navigates from Bushafer FS 3876 to its intersection with Roberts Lake - FS 2144. This rugged two-track trail is perfect for trucks and 4x4s looking to get onto a road less traveled and away from the busy ATV and SxS route that is FS 2144 and FR 3876. This trail can be traveled from either direction, and the difficulty remains mostly the same. If traveled East to West, there is a very mild washed-out hill climb. This trail has several large mud holes, as well as many sections that are narrow due to the dense surrounding forest. The mud holes have a semi-soft bottom and can become greasy depending on the amount of traffic in the area. There are many subtle elevation changes across this trail, which makes this a perfect trail for a fall color tour. Seeing large branches or old tree limbs lying on this trail is not uncommon due to the age of the surrounding forest. Cell service in this area is generally acceptable and is typically only slow in peak summer months.
Difficulty
This is a, packed dirt two-track trail. Expect small washouts and small to medium-sized mud holes with the potential for soft bottoms. Ruts, debris lying on the trail, and overhanging the trail. Most sections of this trail will require vehicles to pull over and/or reverse to an open section to allow for passage. Sight lines are generally good but can be obstructed at times by dense forest trees.
