Trail Overview

This is a forest road in the White Sulphur Ranger District of Monongahela National Forest that connects Anthony Road to FS 797 and is the primary way to access the historic Hopkins Mountain Fireman Cabin. It is a scenic drive that climbs through the forest to the top of Hopkins Mountain from the Blue Bend Recreation Area on Anthony Creek. It gains about 1300 feet to get to the top of the mountain at around 3300 feet. There are no dispersed sites along this Forest Service route, but you can rent the cabin on recreation.gov. It has electricity, heat, and a vault toilet.

Difficulty

A graded forest service road that should be passable by all road legal vehicles outside of winter. It can be a bit rougher near the top and hard rain can bring some minor washouts.
