Trail Overview
West Sunny Side is a 0.9-mile point-to-point ATV and dirt bike trail that climbs through a recently logged clear-cut, connecting with other trails in the Foothills ORV system. The trail is generally fast and flowing but includes several steeper climbs, rocky sections, and areas of moderate exposure. Riders are rewarded with open views across the surrounding hillsides as they work their way uphill.
Difficulty
West Sunny Side is rated Moderate due to its sustained climb, loose rock, and several steep pitches. Maintaining momentum is important on some of the looser uphill sections, where stopping can make restarting difficult. Midway through one of the climbs, riders will encounter a small rocky step-up that is easily rollable with proper line choice and momentum but can become more challenging if approached too slowly. Riders should also use caution on the exposed hillside sections and choose their lines carefully through the rockier climbs. The trail is suitable for ATVs and dirt bikes, though beginners may find the steeper climbs challenging.
