Trail Overview
The Twin Peaks trail takes you up and down the mountains of Capitol Forest. Through thick treed forest, over exposed dirt and rocky terrain. The trail is an intermediate enduro-style trail. A mix of flow and slightly more technical terrain for a rider looking for a little more challenge without getting into too much trouble. Steeper sections with larger rocks and root ledges. The trail gets wet and slick in the rainy season but dries out after about a week of clear, warm weather. There are a few spots where the trail crosses over forest roads, so watch for vehicles driving down the road. The trail has a couple of intersections where you can jump on a different trail. You will see a couple of signs labeled "Twin Peaks Moto Trail". Follow those signs as they connect the Twin Peaks Trail and avoid short forest road transit. While the trail is a double track, it will get narrow for quads. NOT PASSABLE for QUADS OVER 48". Taller obstacles will be difficult on quads with low clearance. All trails at Capitol Forest are ONLY open for motorized use May 1-November 30. CLOSED ALL OTHER DATES OF THE YEAR. Trails are multi-use and multi-directional. Watch for other recreators coming from the opposite direction.
Difficulty
Several areas where the terrain gets more challenging. Ledges with large roots and rocks. Rocks scattered throughout the majority of the trail will shift bikes/quads around. Not terribly difficult, but not recommended for new riders.
