Trail Overview
The Divide Trail South brings you from the Rock Candy side of Capitol Forest to the start of the Waddell Basin side. This trail has diverse terrain, some challenging obstacles for new riders, but is passable by most riders with basic skills. The trail crosses over a couple of bridges and through the beautiful, thick forest. There are several sections where the trail crosses forest roads, providing access to other trails. The trail is well marked with signs and can be ridden in sections or as a whole. Scattered rocks and small ruts can be found throughout the trail. Trail is slick when wet. NOT PASSABLE for QUADS OVER 48 inches. All trails at Capitol Forest are ONLY open for motorized use from May 1 to November 30. CLOSED ALL OTHER DATES OF THE YEAR. Trails are multi-use and multi-directional. Watch for other recreators coming from the opposite direction.
Difficulty
Mostly beginner friendly but there are a few steeper hills and small obstacles that will be a little more of a challenge for new riders. This is otherwise a great trail for new riders looking to get a few more miles under their belt and practice skill building. Majority of the trail is relatively smooth with a few sections of steep "punchy" climbs and rocky/root obstacles. The majority of this trail will faster flow for more skilled riders. Trail is more difficult during rainy season, becoming slick.
