Trail Overview

Tatoosh Trail will lead you through narrow trails that at times will open up to wider trails. There are spots where the trail is overgrown and has low overhanging branches. The trail has washouts and plenty of deep ruts filled with water and mud along its path. The trail also has areas that are eroded but are passable. Turnaround spots are limited on this narrow path;it's generally only 1 vehicle wide with limited ability to pass other vehicles. The trail will lead you to Tatoosh Hills where you can proceed to Saturday Rock or Gumboot Mountain, which leads into the deep forest.

Nice and easy trail. It's really cool to drive through the old forest fire. I ran all the trails in the area in 2 wheel drive. You could do this trail in a stock pickup or suv.

Mostly gravel road, ruts and potholes can get fairly big for a gravel road and will fill with water during wet season. Not much of a trail for a high clearance 4x4 rig more of an access road, a Subaru with oversized tires could have done this with proper tire placement. My xj on 35s did it mostly around 10-20 mph.

Tatoosh Trail can be accessed by the following ride types:
