Trail Overview

Crossing the bridge at the end of North Fork Road opens up several trails and riverside camping spots for the more adventurous. The first right leads to fire road T57, which follows the river on the north side up to a washed-out wooden bridge and waterfall. In the springtime, the river runs high with rapids. Expect pinstripes from overhanging trees.

Difficulty

Any vehicle that has made it this far can handle this trail. There is a rutted area and a height restriction due to trees leaning across the trail.

History

This trail used to be part of a longer trail system that degraded over time. The longer trail seems to continue after the washed-out bridge.

Pretty good ruts early on as described by others. Definitely need some clearance. Went up to the mines. Saw one other vehicle.

Went out and cleared the tree. Rest of the trail is how it normally is.

Downed tree about a half mile from the end, couldn’t get past. Otherwise open, wet with some big puddles.

Same as normal the main rut isn’t any worse than it’s always been.

The beginning of the trail is washed out a little bit but very passable in a vehicle with some clearance (I was in a stock height Wrangler).

You'll want AWD/4wd and suggest at least 9" clearance to comfortably get through one washed out, rutty section. Everything else was easy, Bear Creek waterfall was beautiful.

In the beginning of the trail as mentioned before there are ruts. The trail isn't to bad after that.. There is off shoots that lead to the river. We walked them before going down.

The big tree has been cleared so you can make it to the end of the trail before the rough bridge, I went on basically all the little campsite offshoots, and man this is probly my favorite trail on the lower snoqualmie side of the pass, would really recommend something with awd/ 4wd. Probably for pin striping will increase as all the plants grow back onto the trail. All in all it’s pretty easy that rut is getting prettt gnarly tho as seen in that one pic

As of 1/19/25 the trail was in driveable condition. Some snow on the ground particularly in shady areas - no more than a quarter inch or so. Wet conditions along the full trail but not much mud. Potholes are the most challenging obstacles with a few rutted out areas. My Sequioa is a stock 4x4 and I had no issues on this trail, it is tight at times but not much to worry about in terms of pinstriping - trail rash is proof that your rig isnt a pavement princess anyway.

Small entry obstacle, definitely narrow with some low hanging trees. A little slush on the ground towards the end.

Pretty easy going. Snow is absent of driving path. About 35 degrees out so it was all slowly melting but it was pretty dry up there all things considered. 4th pic is the same spot were I was covered in snow in my report from the dec 30th. Max 2” snow ruts. Anything can make it with good wheel placement. I also cut back one of the trees that was hanging out a little too much for my liking with my new saw. Last pic is of the big old growth across the trail past the trail head

Good 2-4” of fresh powder. Clear to bare mountain trail head. I’ve never gone past it and about a quarter mile an old growth tree is across the road (last pic). I’ve heard there’s a blocked off bridge at the end and I don’t believe that’s it. All in all Was pretty easy. Calling it a level 2 Becuase its not that bad compared to other level 3s I’ve done. Any car with decent awd and like 6” of clearance can make it up if you take the right line on that main big rut. The part were the trail was blocked last time is pretty tight. And my sliders hit 1 part but I coulda gone over an inch and been fine. So I wouldn’t anything like over 80” wide or bigger through. It’s super beautiful out there right now.
