Trail Overview

This is a very easy gravel trail with one water crossing. This trail has been washed out but has since been repaired. It is unmaintained in the winter. This trail follows the river for most of the trail. It's a nice place to pull off and camp or take in river views. The end of the trail has a place to camp at and there are also 2 lakes at the end of the trail. One is an easy 10-minute walk and the other is a good 2-mile hike.

There are a few short spots with some rocks and ruts to traverse that would make it difficult if not impassible for something small like a Subaru but trucks will be fine.

Washout 5.8 miles in. Capable rigs able to handle boulders / large rocks can likely make it through

Started off dry with gravel to dirt patches to some snow to so much so that I didn’t have enough clearance to pass. I almost made it to the top of the trail.

Very easy drive. 4x4 wasn't needed. Saw multiple small subarus and 2ws trucks on this route. Fun little drive with an awesome place to camp on a rocky creek bed.

Very easy trail, all you need is a little ground clearance. Beautiful lake and hikes at the top. No other cars on the trail.

Starts wide but gets very narrow towards the end. Need high clearance vehicle. Not a busy trail. Only saw 3 cars the whole trail back and forth.

Open and clear all the way up. Easy most the way up. The road gets narrow toward the end but not too bad. Lake Elizabeth is a nice site

Hard packed slick snow a few miles in - wait until May or June before trying this. There are loose and sharp rocks filling a spot in the road just before the snow, so b

just went for a quick scout 1/3.of the way up, as I had a long day of driving on the highway. still ahead of me. trails starts full width , only partially covered by a shallow snow slush. Narrows shortly after the beginning to about a car width that's drivable as there's deep snow on both sides. Very slippery with refrozen snow and ice underneath the initial layer. Even with the rear lockers on was still very slick and with a steep embankment of snow on the left side, the right side had a slope that went into a shallow ditch. you have to be careful and pick a good spot to get turned around. Another truck almost went off the end which was a testament to the slippery conditions

Snow all over, we faced a rock on the road and had to move it to continue. Snow got deep and needed to use shovel to get unstuck.

Just a flat gravel road, there was a Honda civic and an Audi at the top.

The trail was clear, very easy. Could probably be done pretty easily in a 2wd vehicle with slightly higher than average clearance. I didn't need 4wd in the 4runner.

Wide open until the hairpins then it narrows down, someone coming downhill almost crashed into us head on so take that section with caution. Drove all the way to the Crater Lake Trailhead with no issue.
