Stirrup Lake - FS 5483118

Stirrup Lake - FS 5483118 is a scenic backcountry route that winds through the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, offering peaceful forest driving with glimpses of surrounding Cascade ridges and access to beautiful Stirrup Lake. Numerous spur roads branch off the main route, providing opportunities to explore secluded viewpoints, dispersed campsites, and quiet pockets of forest. Be sure to take the short hike to Stirrup Lake or connect with the nearby Pacific Crest Trail for even more incredible scenery and alpine forest views. This area is excellent for dispersed camping, wildlife viewing, hunting during open seasons, and exploring the many side roads. Deer, elk, black bear, and a variety of bird species are commonly seen. Road conditions can change dramatically after heavy rain or snowmelt, with washouts and deep drainage crossings developing quickly. Expect tight brush in many sections, making pinstripes from overgrown vegetation likely. Travel prepared, drive cautiously, and allow extra time to explore the many spurs throughout the area.
