Trail Overview
Dandy Pass - FS 5080 is a fun forest drive through the heart of the Wenatchee National Forest, offering a mix of dense timber, mountain ridges, and scenic viewpoints. Along the route, you'll find numerous spur roads that are perfect for exploring, with opportunities for dispersed camping, hiking, hunting access, wildlife viewing, and simply getting off the beaten path. Keep an eye out for deer, elk, black bear, and a variety of birds throughout the area.
This is a great trail for explorers who enjoy wandering side roads and discovering quiet campsites. Be prepared for changing conditions; this area is actively logged during parts of the year, so expect logging truck traffic and use caution around blind corners. Downed trees are common, especially after storms, and overgrown brush can leave plenty of pinstripes on your vehicle. Traveling with a saw and checking current conditions before your trip are highly recommended.
