Trail Overview

This 9.7-mile out-and-back trail takes you from Highway 2 up to the trailhead for the Round Mountain Trail. The trail starts by passing through an area of private property. The trail then begins climbing up to the ridgeline. There is a communication tower off the trail and possible large service trucks on this trail. The trail is passable by 2WD, AWD, and 4WD vehicles.

This is a single-vehicle width trail with mud holes less than 12 inches in depth.

Normal conditions up to the top, spotted a few WSDOT vehicles near the trailhead that weren’t active. Vault Toilet was clean, bulletin board informative 💁🏻‍♂️

Road up to the trailhead has recently been resurfaced and brush cleared. The road is now completely smooth and mostly 2 vehicles wide with a few narrow sections.

Looked like a pretty promising trail but I didn’t make it more than a mile or two do to sinking in slush. I had traction boards and airing down capabilities but no winch and was riding solo so we’re saving it for later conditions lots of downed trees, fortunately someone else has put in some work clearing them.
