Trail Overview

This is a beautiful easy trail up in Darrington WA with a little hidden gem of camping spots along the river. This trail used to be 11 miles long now cut down to 5.5 due to a washout. The hidden little camping spot on the trail is a little rougher and don't suggest a basic car go this route.

Massive washout. The bridges heading up have concrete barriers blocking a good portion on the road. At the washout there is a small bypass trail. Pretty intricate for vehicles. Maybe lifted jeeps or a Toyota can make it. Motorcycles were easy to get around.

Trail was passable with high clearance and some nerves. From S side, first major landslide has workaround trail through forest. Various minor obstacles of next several miles until second washout, about half the trail missing requires very careful driving on narrow remaining road with off camber use of uphill side of road to get by. This is the sketchiest area. Third obstruction is a landslide, very minor rock crawling to get over. Otherwise easy trail, beautiful scenery.
