Trail Overview

The Peekaboo Lake Trail is a mostly gravel and dirt path with some moderate pot holes sprinkled throughout the trail and rutting further up the trail. Most obstacles are pretty easy to navigate in most AWD and 4x4 vehicles, but hikers take this trailhead seriously and will attempt to drive whatever they have up it. The trail gains moderate elevation quickly, but since this trail is not open during winter, it will generally be snow-free and mostly dry. There are a couple of steep clay low step-ups closer to the end of the trail that will just require patience and a gentle throttle to prevent slipping, and 4low will make this trail much easier on the transmission and gearboxes. If hiking is a goal, the trailhead at the end leads to a moderately difficult hiking path with spectacular views. At the end of the trail, there may be a few cars parked, but the parking area is pretty easy to turn around in, provided it's not completely packed.

This trail can be navigated by almost any AWD or 4x4 vehicle with moderate clearance. Some vehicles may just need to go slower and take their time, and enjoy the ride to ensure they don't scrape. While potholes are not in abundance, there are a few decently deep ones that can catch you off guard.
