Trail Overview
Oklahoma Gulch Road is a 5.7-mile point-to-point route that follows a wide, smooth, and well-maintained gravel and dirt surface, connecting Mud Creek Road to Highway 97. A Discover Pass is required for access. The road becomes steeper and more winding southeast of the intersection with South Fork Mud Creek, where the route is seasonally closed from December 1 to April 1. Beginning from the intersection with Mud Creek Road, approximately miles 0.5 to 1.6 pass through parcels of private property, and users should remain on the established road and respect property boundaries.
Difficulty
Oklahoma Gulch Road is suitable for all vehicles, as the route is generally wide, smooth, and well-maintained. The primary challenges are minor and include a steeper, winding section beyond the South Fork Mud Creek intersection, which may require more attentive driving. Weather conditions such as rain can increase difficulty, particularly where the surface becomes slick.
