Trail Overview

This rocky Forest Service Road parallels and then crosses the adjacent Fortune Creek 4WD Trail before climbing onto the lower flank of Hawkins Mountain. It is used mostly by those wishing to skip the lower half of the 4WD trail when accessing Gallagher Head Lake. It is little maintained and rocky enough to make it challenging for AWD and vans. This road opens seasonally on June 15 and is often snowbound above 5,000 feet until early July.
