Trail Overview
FS 2180-011 is designated for high-clearance vehicles and begins as a wide, relatively easy dirt road. About halfway through, conditions change dramatically as the road narrows into a heavily overgrown, single-track-width path. Riders should expect to push through thick vegetation with very little room on either side. Several fallen logs cross the route and require log hops, while smaller logs and branches scattered across the ground can cause tires to slip or deflect off line. The farther you travel, the thicker and less defined the route becomes as vegetation reclaims the old roadbed. There are few significant rock obstacles, but the combination of overgrowth, logs, and slippery debris requires careful line choice. Eventually, the route fades into the woods and ends with no clear trail continuing beyond it.
Difficulty
Easy/Moderate due primarily to the deteriorating conditions in the second half of the route. The trail begins as a wide, easy dirt road with few obstacles before narrowing considerably as vegetation overtakes the old roadbed.
