Trail Overview
FR Q 1400 is an easy, straightforward connector road on Washington state-managed land. The route follows a firm, hardpack dirt surface and remains mostly straight, with very few turns or changes in terrain. Dense forest lines both sides of the road for nearly the entire route, limiting long-distance views but creating a shaded, enclosed feel. There are no significant obstacles, steep climbs, water crossings, or technical sections along the main road. Numerous smaller forest roads and spur trails branch off Q-1400 along the way, making it useful as a connector through the surrounding road network. No obvious dispersed camping areas were observed along the route. Overall, Q-1400 is a mellow, well-maintained forest road with minimal technical difficulty.
Difficulty
Firm hardpack, no obstacles, no meaningful rutting, no steep grades, and almost no technical driving. Its main purpose is to serve as a simple connecting road through the DNR road system.
