Trail Overview

This is a fun spur off of Frost Mountain Trail that climbs to the overlook at the top of Frost Mountain, with 360-degree views. This short spur trail is about a half mile long. It starts in a wide meadow at the intersection with Trail 1366, and there is a sign on the tree, making it easy to know when the trail starts. It climbs up a forested dirt trail with a couple of bigger roots across the trail, making small ledges, or drop-offs, if riding them back down. It gains about 385 feet of elevation in the short climb. It widens up at the top as it approaches the overlook, riding over a wide gravel path. The overlook has a large flat parking spot and is also where the 4x4 trail reaches the overlook, so you may see other vehicles here. This little spur trail should definitely not be missed when riding Frost Mountain, as just a short detour with a very rewarding view.
