Trail Overview
This is a dirt-based forest road that gradually climbs on the south side of Forest Mountain. The trail is narrow and one lane wide, with many areas that are two-track. There is overgrown vegetation in some places, and you can expect to pick up a pinstripe. The trail has some rock and rock garden sections that are a little bumpy, and ruts/wash up to a foot deep. There were a couple of mud holes, but overall, any vehicle type should be able to traverse this trail. The trail ends in a grassy campsite area, but the views are mostly obstructed by trees. There are no amenities along the trail, and the closest services and supplies are approximately 20 miles away in the City of Metaline Falls. Cell phone service was weak, so travelers prepared with offline maps and satellite communications if possible.
