Trail Overview

DNR Road 1240 is an easy hardpack route on Washington DNR-managed land. The road is open to street-legal vehicles, including plated motorcycles. The route is approximately 60 inches wide, generally providing room for one vehicle at a time. It travels through dense forest with trees lining both sides and follows a series of mellow, winding turns. The surface consists primarily of firm hardpack dirt with no significant technical obstacles. Several smaller roads and spurs branch from the main route along the way. Road 1240 can be used as a connector between North Lake Cushman Road and Saddle Mountain Road, making it useful for traveling through the surrounding road network. Keep an eye out for wild chickens along the route.
