Trail Overview
Cub Creek is a moderately easy single-track through the Wenatchee National Forest. It is less steep and less technical than the parallel portion of trail 943 that also connects Forest Road 1911 to Manastash Ridge Trail. The trail is a steady climb from south to north, gaining over 1,200 feet in 2.5 miles. The climb is mostly gradual, with a few steeper spots. Part of the climb on the south end is very dug out and trenched, but it is less rocky and loose than 943 during the climb, making it the easier of the two options. The trail has several wide and gradual switchbacks, small wooden bridge crossings, and a small portion of dirt logging road in the middle of the route that connects the portions of singletrack. This is a short and easier option to bail out of Manastash Ridge and get back to Little Naches Road via 1911, so you may see riders starting or ending their day with this trail.
Difficulty
This trail is moderately easy because although there are no major rock ledges and fewer roots than surrounding trails, there is still a steep climb and several switchbacks. The switchbacks are wide and smooth, and the climb is not very rocky, making it approachable for less experienced riders, although steep.
