Trail Overview
Situated just west of Carson, Washington, Carson Creek Road serves as a rugged and highly scenic backcountry connector. Starting near local private property boundaries, the route climbs steadily uphill into lush Washington State Lands, ultimately linking up with intersecting routes CG 2200 and CG 2200B. The pathway winds heavily through a dense, vibrant green woodland canopy that provides deep shade along the journey. Outdoor enthusiasts and explorers frequently utilize this track to catch glimpses of the beautiful Carson Creek Falls and to gain vital access to the expansive state trail network. The driving surface consists of a severely rocky and chunky dirt foundation, earning a rugged Grade 3 difficulty rating. Regardless of which direction the route is traveled, the persistent rocky terrain demands a slow, bouncing pace and careful tire placement to successfully navigate.
Difficulty
Earning a Grade 3 difficulty rating, this dense forest connector is defined by its consistently rough, chunky rock base. The primary obstacle on this trail is the unforgiving terrain itself; continuous stretches of loose, jagged stones and uneven rocky patches blanket the corridor, forcing a very slow and deliberate crawling pace. Standard street tires at normal highway pressures will result in an incredibly harsh and miserable ride over this uneven surface. Upgraded, robust all-terrain tires and significantly reduced tire pressures are absolute necessities to properly absorb the harsh impacts, prevent punctures, and maintain reliable traction during the climb. Ample ground clearance is also highly recommended to comfortably clear the protruding rocks and uneven terrain without causing unwanted undercarriage damage.
