Trail Overview

This 4.4-mile section of advanced single track has deeply rutted and rocky climbs on the east side, and extreme exposure on the west side, making it a constantly difficult trail ideal for expert riders. This trail will be particularly difficult in the west-to-east direction as it ascends over 2,000 feet over the course of the route through some very technical terrain. There is a particularly steep, rutted climb near the intersection with Elsinore Mine, where the trail is deeply troughed, with several tall root obstacles, and ruts filled with large loose rolling rocks. There are a couple of technical rocky creek crossings with large boulders, roots, and rocks in the entrance/exit from the creek. On the west end of the trail, there is about a mile-long portion of very narrow side-hilling with severe exposure, as the trail crosses a sloughed-off hillside of fine dirt and gravel. This area is very high consequence and should only be ridden by advanced riders comfortable with side-hilling and exposure. It’s a challenging trail with rewarding mountain views.
