Trail Overview

This trail offers scenic views of the mountains as you travel along the ridge. There are several dispersed campsites large enough to fit multiple vehicles with existing fire rings and great views. The trail is relatively smooth and can be driven in fair weather by most vehicles. The connection to Vepco Road offers an option to enjoy multiple trails along this mountain range. Cell phone service is spotty along the trail.

The actual trail is pretty simple my 4 door fwd goes up it to but the fun part is all the side trails that go off that’s where you’ll find the mud at if that’s what your looking for but overall it’s a good ride with some great views

typical gw forest road. combination of dirt and rocky bits with small mud holes and some potholes scattered through. plenty of scenic views as you ride the ridge. lots of primitive camping spots along the road. meets up with vepco rd. just a fyi there were signs at the road junction with vepco saying vepco to long run Rd was closed for work. we took vepco towards fort seybert.

It rained all day today, but the trail conditions really didn't change much. The trail is well packed and even in the rain almost any vehicle can do this trail. While not challenging, it is still a fun drive through the mountains. Campsites are scattered throughout this trail, although many are overgrown, and may only be clear during winter. There are a few side trails, and one popular mud pit to have a little fun with.

Very easy trail, nothing technical. Found a little mud in a turn off. Overall a nice drive for a get away day to the mountains.

Accurate 1/10 rating, but a very pleasant drive. There are lots of campsites, but they were all overgrown.

This is a nice dirt trail that has not been touched by the recent work in the area. It is an easy trail with no mandatory obstacles. There are a few offshoot trails, places to have a little fun, and camp sites along the way. It is a good option to enter the forest from the East, since another option Long Run Rd was graded and gravelled recently.
