North Turkey Knob - BLM15210

Trail Overview

North Turkey Knob-BLM15210 is a 10.7-mile point-to-point trail rated 3 of 10 located in Garfield County. N Turkey Knob is a graded hard packed dirt road that may have blown sand on occasion. The trail climbs in altitude nearly 1000-feet from the trailhead at State Road 95 to the intersection with Cedar Point Trail and S Turkey Knob. Located north of the trail are the tributary canyons that feed into the Dirty Devil River. Most of the slot canyons feeding into the Dirty Devil River are technical in nature and require ropes and the proper safety gear. Two well-known canyons along this section of the trail are the Constrychnine and Slideanide Canyons. Another feature in this area is the Arscenic Arch (38deg 6'20.16"N, 110deg32'20.76"W) which is a three-quarter mile one-way hike from the North Turkey Knob trail. If planning on visiting Cedar Point Overlook (38deg 3'58.98"N, 110deg25'29.57"W) then consider making this a loop trail by using South Turkey Knob trail as well. Due to steep and deep wash crossings, long-wheel-based vehicles are not recommended past the Arsenic Arch trailhead. Don't expect cell phone service in this area, and the nearest services are located north on SR95 in Hanksville.
