Poison Spring Canyon

I am running a 2021 Tacoma on a 2 inch lift with 33 inch tires. Most of the trail was a 4 out of 10. But when I got to Dirty Devil River crossing I had to turn back. It wasn’t because the river was deep. It was because the exit ramp was about 3 foot. My Tacoma does not have the approach or break over clearance for that.. So we had to go back into the park and spend the night before we went elsewhere. I’ll bet that after more people with bigger rigs run through that crossing it will get easier.

**Do not drive this trail if there is even a chance of rain.** the road is basically in the wash most of the time and you can see where there is flood debris up over the vehicle from pats floods. The recent rains washed the road out in some places . Some choose your own adventure and find the road again at some point a few steep drops rises in and out of the wash . A few in avoidable mud bogs that will probably be dry in a few days. If it rains while you are out there it’s life threatening . even if you find a safe place you might be stuck for a few days at least.

We did the trail in a SxS and met dirt bikes on the trail. There are no posted vehicle restrictions. Beautiful views and the crossing at Dirty Devil River was easy on this day.

2/10 difficulty, easily done in a stock vehicle with no concerns during dry season. Super pretty winding through a wide canyon, river crossing could be sketchy if it is super wet but when we went it was nothing at all, maybe 2” deep. No super interesting obstacles or offshoots, passed a couple people but wasn’t crazy busy.

Park Website states trail is impassable due to recent erosion from flash floods.
