Trail Overview

This trail is a rough out-and-back trail that branches off of Red Cloud Loop and heads northwest to Ashley Twin Lakes Reservoir, where it ends after crossing the dam. This trail is unmaintained and rocky as it travels to the lake, with most of the trail being smaller rocks, with larger ones scattered throughout to navigate, making for a slow, bumpy ride. As you approach the end of the trail, it becomes wetter, with multiple small mud pits and puddles scattered along the trail, along with a larger mud pit and a water crossing towards the end of the trail. At the end of the trail, wider vehicles should avoid driving out onto the dam and use the lower parking area, as the dam is too narrow to drive across and could be impassable to larger vehicles. This trail is open to all vehicles and has no set seasonal closure date, but will be inaccessible due to deep snow during the winter and spring months.
