Shell Oil Road

This well-maintained dirt road has a firm, hard-packed surface and provides an easy drive. Under normal dry conditions, the road should be suitable for a 2WD vehicle. Most of the route is wide enough for normal travel, although several sections become narrow when vehicles meet. The shoulders can be soft and may contain deep mud, so use caution when pulling aside for oncoming traffic. Oilfield equipment still uses this road, and private property borders both sides. Respect all gates and property boundaries. Deer and other wildlife are frequently visible along the route, adding to the scenic forest experience. The road also provides access to a hiking trail.
