Trail Overview
Hasan (FS 209B) is a lightly traveled Forest Service spur that runs through a shaded section of Sam Houston National Forest and functions primarily as a recreational access route. The surface is mostly dirt with scattered gravel and minor surface irregularities typical of low-maintenance forest roads. This road provides direct access to the Richards–Raven Trail, making it a convenient entry point for multi-use trail activity. A few small clearings are present along the route, suitable for primitive dispersed camping where permitted, though they are limited in size. In dry conditions, most high-clearance vehicles can navigate the road without issue; traction may vary after rain. Expect limited cell service, shared use near the trail access point, and no services along the route.
Difficulty
This route is rated Easy due to its short length and generally stable dirt surface. It serves mainly as an access road to the Richards–Raven Trail and does not include technical obstacles. Minor surface irregularities or softer sections may be present after rain, but overall difficulty remains low under normal conditions.
