Trail Overview

FS 208H is a short Forest Service spur that branches off into a quieter section of Sam Houston National Forest and serves primarily as access to surrounding recreation areas. The surface is mostly dirt with minor ruts and uneven sections typical of lightly maintained forest roads. This route provides direct access to the 820 multi-use trail and is commonly used by riders and hikers entering the trail system. Several existing clearings along the road may be suitable for primitive dispersed camping where permitted. In dry conditions, most high-clearance vehicles can navigate the route without issue, though traction may vary after rain. Expect limited cell service, shared use near trail access points, and no services along the route.
