Trail Overview
Bounty Hill (V17) is one of the more extreme rock-crawling trails inside Escondido Draw Recreation Area, featuring a challenging climb through rugged and heavily rocky terrain. The route works its way uphill through large boulders, uneven rock formations, and technical sections that require careful line selection and precise vehicle placement. This trail is intended specifically for experienced drivers in purpose-built rock crawlers capable of handling the steep and unforgiving terrain. Reaching the top rewards drivers with expansive views overlooking Escondido Draw and the surrounding West Texas landscape.

Bounty Hill (V17) is an extreme rock-crawling trail featuring a steep uphill route covered with large boulders and highly technical rock obstacles. Careful tire placement and spotting are important throughout the climb. Purpose-built rock crawlers with low-range gearing, high ground clearance, extensive vehicle protection, and proper recovery equipment are strongly recommended. Stock and lightly modified vehicles should not attempt this trail.
