Massingale Mountain Road

This single-lane gravel road is best run from west to east. If you value your paint job this is not the trail for you. The trail is overgrown, the mud holes are hard bottom but can easily be 18 inches or deeper. There is a waterfall, some large washouts, and running water on the trail. There are pull-offs for passing. Under the new law, at least one adult per vehicle is required to possess a valid North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area (NCWMA) Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Riding Permit, a Sportsman Supplemental Annual NCWMA OHV permit, or an NCWMA OHV guide permit. If an individual 17 years of age or younger is operating an OHV by themselves, he/she is not required to possess the permit but must follow the manufacturer's age limit.
