Trail Overview

Ditney Mountain Trail (66) is a rocky trail with narrow twists and turns and a few fun mud holes. Be sure you are in a rig you don't mind limbs scratching alongside your rig. A few washouts will test your flex. Stock 4X4s can make this trail but are not recommended. You can tell the trail is not driven very much due to the saplings growing in the trail at some points. However, if you can make it to where the road is cleared on both sides of trees you are met with some beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Difficulty

Trail is very narrow, rocky all the way makes for a bumpy ride. The washouts will get you off camber while encountering sharp turns and steep hill climbs at the same time in some places.

Although rocky and rough at beginning of south end, trail has been graded and cut back. Very dry today. Fun trail but closer to a 3 than a 5

Not too difficult. Did it on a stock 5th gen SR5. Bumpy, with a few spots off camber. There were a couple of spots where it was steep, muddy, rutted, and on a sharp turn. Otherwise, pretty easy. There were some narrow spots where you can get some personalized pinstripes.

Stock '24 4Runner TRD Pro. Easy trail. Much of it seems to have been maintained in the last month. Some tight sections at the top. A few deeply rutted spots to worry about but did not bottom out at stock height.

Started at the south end. Really enjoyed this trail. Especially in the low section with the multiple creek crossings. One in particular has a nice steep climb on exit. Nothing too difficult but enough to keep you focused.

Trail was very dry. Even the mud hole was dried up. The trail was a fun ride but I don’t think it lived up to its 5 rating. At least not in its current condition. I still recommend this trail. Some beautiful views from up there.

This is a great trail. You need a high clearance 4x4 to do it, but the trail is otherwise pretty easy. Not much off camber, but lots of washouts and pretty rocky too. Great views when you get on top of the ridgeline.

I did this trail from the south end heading north in a completely stock 3rd gen Tacoma 4x4 Off Road with 30" tires. There were lots of saplings and fallen branches making some parts very tight. Full size trucks will definitely come out with some scratches. There were also 2 decently deep mud holes filled with water, one of which you cannot go around. In the first mud hole the water was definitely over the hubs. Overall this trail was very fun!

Trail is overgrown in spots, some rocky places ( small rocks ), a few mud holes less than 10” deep. It’s a 3 only in a few spots. Very scenic trail, we aired down for Comfort Only, no need to kill your kidneys. It’s narrow, only a few wide spots. - The Jeep Crew.

Much easier than the original trail report - there must have been much trail maintenance done. It was rough in places, but I never shifted out of 2wd. Narrow/ overgrown and some danger of pinstriping. We did some side trails and one labeled closed, but the gate was open. All were good condition, 1 or 2/10.
