Sandy Ford - FS 721A

Sandy Ford - FS 721A winds west off Whetstone Road and drops through the forest to a large gravel parking area at the end. This 1/10 trail is graded gravel with some tight bends and short climbs through the middle. The lot at the end holds a good number of vehicles and serves as the jumping-off point for the Sandy Ford portage trail, which runs down to the Chattooga past a set of bollards — foot traffic only, so plan on carrying whatever you bring to the water. There's a river permit box at the trailhead for floaters.
