Trail Overview

Trail 28 is a very easy and short route within the Rivers South OHV Area in the Deschutes National Forest, perfect for newer or younger riders. It makes a short loop that is easy for the entire 2-mile route. The trail is a wide dirt path, ideal for 50-inch vehicles, riding through a tree corridor lined with skinny lodgepole pines. The dirt is smooth and flat, with very little technical element. There were a couple of small trees down halfway over the trail, but easy to ride over or around, and any other downed logs were already cut. About halfway through the loop, you get a nice view of the mountains across the highway. There are a couple of well-marked intersections throughout the route. The north half of the loop becomes a bit narrower between the trees, but it is still a very straightforward route, just being smooth and simple. Expect very gradual curves and good visibility, but always be aware of oncoming traffic.
