Trail Overview
Trail 26 is a dirt-bike-only trail through the River South OHV Area. The trail is a narrow singletrack that winds tightly through a forest of skinny lodgepole pines. It has constant tight curves, and you have to watch your handlebars on the trees that closely line the path. The trail is smooth, silty dirt with hardly any rocks, but you do need to watch out for any fallen timber. There was mild stick debris and small roots in the trail. There are a couple of short climbs that are steeper, but overall still very approachable for beginner riders. The north end spurs off of ATV Trail 20, and after 0.7 miles, it ends on Trail 24. It’s well-marked and easy to follow throughout the route, but it does have some blind corners, so keep your eyes up for any oncoming traffic.
Difficulty
This trail is rated as Most Difficult within the trail system by the Forest Service; however, it is still an easy trail overall as it is mostly gradual, with no big obstacles. The only technical element is that it is very tight and winding in the trees.
