Trail Overview

When entering Sugar Loaf Road, there is an overgrown bridge that looks pretty old. The road runs through the Siuslaw National Forest as well as Weyerhaeuser private property. The road is an easy yet gradually steep gravel road, with thick vegetation. At the end of the road, the trees clear out just enough to give a good view of the rolling landscape. There is also access to a mix of BLM and Weyerhaeuser areas after you finish this road.

Sugar Loaf is open but Kelpi road is closed. Sugarloaf is fairly straight forward and besides some steepish hills and some deep potholes is easily accessible to all kinds of vehicles.

When going to the trails, make sure that the log semi-trucks are there to transport logs. I once went without them and had to turn back.
