Trail Overview
This maintained trail travels through a dense, very green forest with a heavy canopy overhead. The road surface is mostly smooth gravel, though undergrowth and trees encroach on the trail in places, making the route look wider than it is. The surrounding vegetation can be deceptive, so allow extra room for branches and other growth along the edges. The trail was quite wet during the drive, and a steep drop-off along one side of the road is difficult to see from the trail, so use caution on this section. The road does not continue straight ahead as it may initially appear; instead, it turns and curves along the provided route. Farther along, the trail opens into a relatively flat area with a large clearing suitable for dispersed camping. Thorny vegetation, possibly resembling mulberry bushes, grows around the edges of the camp area, so use care when moving around the site. The clearing may have once offered a more open view, but the surrounding greenery has become overgrown. Trees and undergrowth continue to encroach on portions of the route, but the trail remains passable and well maintained by users. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
