Trail Overview
Mahogany Gap Road offers a scenic and practical route linking Highway 95 to Succor Creek Road (a.k.a. Jordan Valley-Leslie Gulch Road). This trail winds through a wide valley and open meadows, flanked by sagebrush, rabbitbrush, and pretty views of the surrounding hills. The road surface is mostly hard-packed dirt with scattered rocks, but deep ruts and dust are common, especially in dry weather. While relatively rough, maintenance appears to be underway, with signs of new grading and drainage ditches being added. Watch for cattle and use caution near the farm along the route. A few shallow creek crossings and muddy patches add a bit of variety to the drive. While not overly technical in dry conditions, this road can quickly become difficult when wet, with slick mud and ruts that require 4WD and good tires.
