Trail Overview

The June Lake Trail is a fun and flowy single track that starts at the Timpanogas Lake Campground at a day-use parking area and winds through the forest for 2.2 miles to reach June Lake. There is a small spot with water access at the end of the trail, making for a great place to rest before your return trip, since this does not connect to anything and must be ridden as an out-and-back. The trail overall is fast and flowy, with smooth loamy dirt, minor roots and rocks, and a few narrow sections that are more exposed, but mostly through gradual and low-consequence terrain, perfect for beginners. It traverses scenic forested hillsides full of mossy white pines and hemlocks. There will be log hazards in early season, but this is a popular area for hiking that sees many visitors, and the trails will usually be cut by summertime. The area looks highly maintained, with brand new signs, making it easy to follow the routes in the trail system.
