Trail Overview
The Indigo Lake Trail is an easy single-track trail that starts at Lake Timpanogas and gradually climbs for 2 miles up to Indigo Lake. This is the easiest trail in the Lake Timpanogas trail system. It gains about 600 feet elevation during its ascent, with several wide and sweeping switchbacks. The trail winds through a scenic forested hillside full of hemlocks and mossy spruce trees, with lots of shade. It’s a very popular route for hiking, especially on busy summer weekends, so the path is very wide and well-used, and any downfall was cleared from the trail. The trail ends at a viewpoint on Indigo Lake beneath the impressive Sawtooth Ridge. There is a nonmotorized trail that goes around Indigo Lake that is popular for hiking. Mosquitoes can be really bad at the lake in the summer.
