This trail is a well-maintained forest road that begins on the southern side of a railway crossing. Use caution when crossing the tracks before continuing. As the trail progresses, maintenance decreases slightly, but the road remains in good condition and is still suitable for most vehicles. Numerous side trails and spurs branch from the main route; however, many are closed or not permitted for motorized travel, so be sure to remain on legal routes. The trail also offers many excellent dispersed camping opportunities, including several large clearings suitable for groups, trailers, ATVs, and SxSs. The surface is primarily hard-packed sand, creating an easy, scenic, and enjoyable forest drive.
