Trail Overview
This trail is an unmaintained sandy alpine route that travels through a mixture of forested areas, open terrain, and natural clearings. Much of the trail is relatively open, transitioning between shaded wooded sections and stretches of grassland before crossing a broad clearing that resembles an old riverbed. The changing landscape provides a scenic and peaceful drive with a more remote backcountry feel compared to the surrounding maintained roads. The trail offers opportunities to enjoy the surrounding forest, open views, and quieter conditions away from busier routes. The route eventually connects with another trail, providing access back toward the larger maintained road network and allowing for continued exploration of the surrounding area. This trail is best suited for drivers comfortable with remote, less-developed routes and changing terrain conditions. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
Difficulty
Although there are no major obstacles noted along the trail, drivers should be prepared for the loose sandy surface, changing traction conditions, and potential variations caused by limited maintenance.
