Trail Overview
This beautiful, user-maintained gravel road climbs through a remote forest setting with very little traffic, offering a quiet, secluded drive. The trail winds through dense vegetation with tall grasses, undergrowth, and overhanging trees along the route, making some pinstriping likely. As the road climbs higher onto the mountain, it transitions through a series of steep sections, including a significant downhill followed by a steep climb when approached from the opposite direction. Low range is recommended when climbing from the lower end of the trail due to the incline and loose conditions in some areas. Blue ribbons have been placed sporadically along the route. There are areas of concern such as large potholes, off-camber sections, or sections requiring additional caution. The trail is mostly narrow and single-lane, although there are a few areas suitable for turning around near the beginning, one larger turnaround area farther along, and an open area at the end of the route. Camping is not permitted in this area, and any open spaces should be used for day use only. Due to the tall, dry vegetation along the trail, visitors should be mindful of fire danger and ensure ATVs and SxSs are equipped with proper spark arresters. This route is subject to Seasonal Designation and is typically open from May through November. Please check local regulations and current conditions before traveling.
Difficulty
The combination of steep climbs, loose surfaces, and off-camber terrain requires careful driving and low range in places.
