Trail Overview

This well-maintained trail offers a beautiful drive through the forest, with a few branches hanging into the road and steep drop-offs along both sides in places. The route initially descends steadily before eventually climbing again. As the trail continues, it progressively descends farther into the area. The road remains in good condition for most of the route, although the terrain changes noticeably as you continue and eventually becomes more rugged, with several large mounds and deep dips. The main maintained section ends here. A continuation appears to remain open for travel, but it is not part of the National Forest road network and requires a high-clearance 4x4 due to the larger obstacles and speed dips. This is a one-way-in, one-way-out route with no way to return to the main road from the far end. Continuing beyond the maintained section will eventually lead onto private property, so do not attempt to use it as a through route. A fallow deer carcass was also observed along the route, indicating that deer and predators are present in the area. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
