FS 2055-970

This is a dirt-based forest road in the National Forest near the Cove of the Palisades State Park. The trail has minor ruts and wash, and after rain there will be a couple of mud holes. There is some rock garden and boulders along the trail, but overall this is an easy trail that could be ridden in any vehicle type. Camping is allowed along this trail, and the trail ends in a massive dispersed camping site near a locked gate that appears to be a hunting camp large enough for at least 10 vehicles. You will have great views of Mt Jefferson, and will be close to Lake Billy Chinook. Cell phone service was decent along this trail, but there are no amenities, so travel prepared. The nearest services and supplies are approximately 30 minutes away in Madras, Oregon.
