Cave Mountain - FS 5812000

This user-maintained trail offers an enjoyable drive through mixed forest with a surface that changes from sandy beige silt in the south to darker gravel farther north. Near the southern entrance is a parking area that resembles a small camping or staging area, although visitors should note the unfortunate presence of a burnt-out vehicle and scattered rubbish nearby. The trail gradually becomes slightly more technical toward the northern end, but it remains well within the capabilities of a standard high-clearance 4x4 in dry conditions. Several dispersed campsites are located along the route, and numerous side spurs provide additional opportunities for exploration, particularly for ATVs, SxSs, and dirt bikes. Overall, this is an enjoyable forest trail with varied scenery and convenient access to surrounding routes.
