Trail Overview
Camping Spur is a short flat spur road off Forest Service Road 1825043 with access to numerous campsites. The spots on the right side and at the turnaround include short hikes down to the sandy river, though no swimming exists on this stretch and the water is very cold. The half-mile drive is gravel and sand with sporadic rocks, ruts, and slight off-camber. Some rocks need high clearance but can be driven around in a regular vehicle. It stays easy and flat the whole way and can be done in all vehicles, with high clearance making it easier.
Difficulty
Rated Green Circle, Level 2, this short spur is flat and easy. The surface is gravel and sand with sporadic rocks, ruts, and slight off-camber. A few rocks would benefit from high clearance, but they can be driven around in a regular vehicle. Drivers with low clearance just need to keep a keen eye out to avoid the scattered rocks. High clearance makes the short trip easier, though it can be done in all vehicles.
